Custody Litigation
Child custody issues sometimes arise during divorce proceedings.  A Court's decision regarding which parental rights each parent will receive in the divorce decree is always a serious issue and must be addressed with the greatest amount of care.  At Newport & Associates we strive to reach a fair and reasonable resolution of all child custody issues.  

Modification of Divorce Decrees
Divorce decrees can be modified to alter custody, visitation, and child support provisions.  Over time, divorced parents lives change and the original divorce decree provisions may also need to be changed in order to better reflect the status of the divorced parents.  Modifications are often initiated to increase or decrease the amount of child support a parent pays.  Many times a parent finds that he or she needs to move out of the area specified in a divorce decree.  All of these issues, and more, can be addressed in a divorce decree modification proceeding. 

Child Support Matters
Determining the amount of child support a parent pays and collecting child support are both very important matters in any divorce proceeding involving children.  While the amount of child support is generally determined by statute, collection of child support from a parent who does not pay can be a much more difficult task.  At Newport & Associates we assist clients in all child support matters whether during a divorce or after it is finalized. 

Adoptions
